Hub Tips & Best Practices
Here's how to get the most out of Hubs — from setting one up to making the most of the group chat.
Creating a Hub
Set a specific destination and dates
The more specific you are — "Shibuya area, Tokyo" or "Dec 10–14" — the easier it is to attract compatible travel companions. Specific dates draw more interest than open-ended ones and make planning much easier.
Use activity types to your advantage
Food, sightseeing, outdoor, nightlife — picking the right activity type helps like-minded travelers find your Hub. If you're planning multiple activities, choose the one that best represents the spirit of your trip.
Write a clear Hub description
Tell potential members what you want to do and the kind of travel companions you're looking for. A well-written description prevents mismatches and helps people decide quickly whether your Hub is right for them.
Joining a Hub
Write a thoughtful join request
A short message with your join request goes a long way. Tell the Hub creator a little about your travel plans and what you're hoping to do together.
Example: "Visiting Shibuya in October — love food spots and cafés. Would be great to explore together!"
Check travel style compatibility
Once you complete the quiz, you'll see a radar chart showing your compatibility with Hub members. Use it to gauge whether your travel DNA aligns before committing to shared plans.
Using the Group Chat
Plan your trip in the chat
Once you're in a Hub, use the group chat to coordinate. Share spots you want to visit, arrange a meeting point, or ask about accommodation — all in one place.
